PH EMBASSY PARTICIPATES IN THE DAMASCUS INTERNATIONAL CHARITY BAZAAR
9 October 2021, Damascus – The Philippine Embassy in Damascus participated in the International Charity Bazaar on 9 October 2021 at the Dama Rose Hotel. Several Embassies showcased their products and services such as the Embassies of Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sudan, Belgium, Ireland, Russia, Venezuela, Belarus, Argentina, Palestine, United Nations and other charitable organizations based in Aleppo and Damascus.
The bazaar started with an opening program that was attended by the Minister of Education, H.E. Darem Tabaa, alongside with the Ambassadors, other Syrian officials and media personnel.
During the bazaar, tourism videos from the different participating embassies including PH tourist destinations were flashed on the screen.
The Philippine Embassy booth showcased tourist destinations posters and brochures as give-aways while various Philippine products such as dried mangoes, banana chips, capiz shell items, pearl jewelries, art batik and Abaca bags and purses were offered for sale.
The Philippine booth received more than a hundred of Syrian and foreign guests. The visitors were mostly businessmen who expressed their interest in the Filipino food products that were displayed in the booth. Most of them signified their interest in importing products to Syria, while many other visitors inquired about tourism and the possibility of studying in Philippine universities. The PH Embassy was among the most visited booths during the event and ninety-nine percent of its products were sold. END.
